Today, I am bringing you a COMPLETE detailed review (with swatches) of the NYX Cosmetics in Your Element Metal Palette. Does it hold up?

This palette comes with 12 eyeshadow shades. NYX also released 3 lipstick shades to correspond with the shade range (sold separately). I did NOT purchase the lipstick shades, so they are not included in this review.

*I have included swatches on my daughter, Alicia’s, skin tone as well as she is several shades darker than me.*

The shades are NOT named, so we’re going off numbers.

You guys know I LOVE a good shimmery shade, so it should come to no surprise that I was completely IN LOVE with this entire palette. The shades are very pigmented and creamy, and are applied better with fingertips than brushes (which is the norm for metallic shades).

My arm is on bottom, and Alicia’s is on the top.

The shades tend to look the same color-wise on mine AND Alicia’s skin tone, which is a first for us. Unsurprisingly, shades 1, 2, 3, and 5 look better and more prominent on Alicia’s darker skin tone due to the fair nature of the shades. Clearly, the shades are SUPER pigmented, and produce mega-shine…but the photos due no justice.

THEY ARE BREATHTAKING IN PERSON!

The shades are very milky and smooth. As I mentioned earlier, they tend to go on better with the fingertips, than with brushes. Additionally, because all the shades are metallic, it was harder to create one-palette looks with it, but it was a welcomed challenge. However, I definitely think I did better the second time around.

Oh, and did I mention? This palette is only $30! STEAL!

The palette is very beautiful. The packaging isn’t super special, but fits well when paired with the other 5 In Your Element Palettes (don’t forget, this is part of a 6-palette collection!) The shades are breathtaking and velvety smooth, and I’m having a blast playing with it. All in all, I would definitely recommend it!
